POST TITLE:   Training Manager

DUTY STATION: Somalia/Kenya

DURATION OF THE ASSIGNMENT: 7 months



STARTING DATES: January 2012

THE ROLE, TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Training Manager is responsible for all the training aspects related to the project including courses provision, education material preparation, and trainings organization,
• He/She is in charge of leading supervision to the mission to assess of project implementation.

He/She will be responsible to:

• Deliver training courses in Somalia intented to define the procedures of food vouchers distribution and to improve the skills of relief workers,
• Deliver evaluation and reviewing workshops to IPs and the sessions of PDM trainings,
• Develop materials for training the trainer courses, monitoring and review workshops and PDM training in collaboration with the Training Assistance and the Project Manager,
• Contribute to the development of other learning format,
• Organize and implement monitoring visits to assess the project activities,
• Collaborate closely with the Project Manager and the Training Assistance to ensure consistency in use of material and training practices,
• Facilitate the recruitment process of the PDM team.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum 5 year technical expertise in training provision,
• Knowledge of humanitarian system, management and evaluation,
• Humanitarian field experience in emergency missions and conflict environments,
• Competence in practical training methods and adult learning,
• Ability to apply standard criteria to assess project activities,
• Stress-resilient and strong mentally to be able to cope with difficult situation, deadlines and complex problems,
• Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills, ability to work in team,
  
• Knowledge of MS Office packages such as Power Point, Word, Excel and Outlook,
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Somali as advantage,
• Somali/Kenyan national.
